Experience of one sense being brought about by another sense. Example: 1/1000 women will see something diferent as supposed to 1/7000 men seeing something diferent. Brain regions for diferent sensory modaliies cross-acivate each other. Example: leters and numbers have colors like the leter a is red, seeing colored shapes when hearing music, tasing things or touching things. Person with synesthesia combines two senses together such as sight and smell. But it is seen that when a person is concentraing well on something then they will not noice a change in their environment. For example in the basketball video, people count the exact number of passes and do not noice the gorilla because of how much they are concentraing on the task at hand. In the door video it is seen that the man who needs direcions does not noice that the person he is talking to changes with another person.
