Examine the development of memory in humans, and its malleability. Memories can be distributed anywhere in the brain, not located in any one place. Sucked out parts of both temporal lobes, 2/3 of his hippocampus and amygdala (slide 4) Could recognize himself in a photo 11 years prior his surgery, but not after. *explicit types of memory are influenced, not so much implicit. My best friend says he remembers his first dentist visit when he was one and a half. I checked the facts with his mom and they are correct. But the memory was probably acquired at a later time, from the parent. We typically cannot recall memories before age 3-4. Early suggested to recall events that did not occur. Memory tasks associated with younger kids interest rather than older adults.
