Sensation and perception what our eyes see: outside world touches us, and we sense it. Sensation refers to detection of physical energy by sense organs in the eyes, ears, skin, which then relay this information to the brain: outside world and inside world are different. Perception: the (cid:271)rai(cid:374)"s interpretation of those raw sensory inputs lets us assemble the stimuli into something meaningful. the way we interpret the contact, and what they mean to us. Bottom-up processing: processing in which a whole is constructed from parts. (sensation, e. g. perceiving an object b(cid:455) it"s edges, starts with the raw stimuli we receive and ends with our synthesizing them into a meaningful concept.
