Slide 5: in order to predict human nature, you must realize there is numerous factors, yates: many factors, i. e. : grades: student gets 75; many reactions depending on the person: teenage girls who hang out together often have the same slang; is reciprocal, emic: i(cid:374)sider"s perspective (i. e. : research on ryerson students) Etic: outsider"s perspective, trying to research a culture from the outside. Even if we cannot see exactly what is happening we may need to believe what is true. Scientific theory aims to explain a larger number of events, not just one.
