228 views4 pages

Document Summary

Politics is about power or power relationships. * dependent variable is the cause of results; independent variable is result/effect (doesn"t change) Endogenous: something that is internal to the system itself (internal cause or origin) Exogenous: something develops from external factors or forces. Patterns of determination: looking at the results of the technology, and the creation and shaping of the technology. Endogenous: technology exists, wouldn"t tell us where it came from or why is there a need for it, who owns it. Power is fluid, constantly shifting and flowing between individuals, society, nations, etc. Power is not held by one actor or one group. The internet and social media has empowered organizations and people to have their voices heard outside of traditional media which may have ignored them or not given them voice. Technology can be both empowering and disempowering at the same time. If someone is empowered, at the same time someone is disempowered.
