It had huge impacts on the evolution of science and knowledge. It allowed europeans to develop maps and aided in their conquest of the world. Scientists were able to print out their experiments and distribute it to other scientists: printing press also contributed to the rise of democracy. There was no democracy until about the 1600s. Politics in the old days were controlled by monarchies.
