An understanding of neuron function requires knowing its structural components. Site where neuron communicates with another cell. Post synaptic cleft- receives message (neuron or cell) Synaptic cleft- btwn pst and pre synaptic cleft: seperates the 2, contain neurotransmitters. Broken dwn by enzymes and reassembled at synaptic terminal. Contain mitochondria and synaptic vesicles (that reabsorb and reassemble neurotransmitters)
