PCS 211 Lecture Notes - Lab Report, Capparis Decidua, Graduated Cylinder
Document Summary
To determine the volume, mass and density of a rectangular shaped solid and learn how to estimate the uncertainties through both direct and indirect ways. When we take measurements we should be cautious about two main errors that can have a slight impact on the result. When we do a measurement we often times encounter errors that will cause us to give an inaccurate solution. Note in mind that these errors are not while taking the measurement, instead are derived from one"s ability of precise measurement as well as the instruments used in the experiment. These two errors are known as reading error and observation error. Reading error occurs through the inaccurate reading of the scale due to its limitation. If we consider a rule or perhaps a meter stick, the nearest smallest value read by the experimenter would be to the nearest millimetre (mm).
