Pharmaceutics: the study of how different dosage forms (e. g. , injection, capsule, controlled- release tablet) influence the way in which the body metabolizes a drug and the way in which the drug affects the body. Drug absorption spectrum: (fastest): liquids, elixirs, and syrups > suspension solutions. > powders > capsules > tablets > coated tablets > (slowest) enteric-coated tablets. Pharmacotherapeutics (also called therapeutics): the study on the use of drugs and the clinical indications for administering drugs to prevent and treat diseases. Pharmacokinetics: the study of what the body does to the drug molecules, including: the phases of absorption, distribution, metabolism, and excretion of drugs: absorption: the movement of a drug from its site of administration into the bloodstream. Bioavailability: a measure of the extent of drug absorption for a given drug and for distribution to the tissues. route (can vary from 0% to 100%).
