Higher ses (men: food insecurity, lower education. *sugar should be less than 10% of daily energy intake (50g or 12 tsp for adults) * Ghrelin and leptin: stretch receptors in stomach activate sensory afferent pathways in the vagus. Inhibits food intake: glp-1, cck, and insulin are released to supress feeding, ghrelin is released to stimulate appetite, leptin is produced by fat cells as fat cells increase in number and size.
