The outer layer is mainly composed of differentiated epidermis and the middle layer is made up of supportive dermis. The third layer is composed of a subcutaneous layer of adipose tissue. This is the outer protective layer of the skin that is replaced every four weeks. This layer is non-vascular and receives nutrition from the dermis layer of skin.
