Camille pissarro- oldest, original member of impressionism, became friends with pi, explored pi but reverted to his old style. The mower 1882 broom strokes broad hatchings subject: labor class, peasants he was a socialist used conte crayon = light shading on surface = pointillist effect. Circus sideshow 1888 theory: harmonies produced mood people are static and linear, blue tone = not inside the circus and not experienced the excitement yet brighter on the left, where the action is. Sunday afternoon on la grande jatte 1884-86 exhibited at 8th and last impressionist exhibit people withdrew from the exhibit because it was there sense of movement from the rowers and the sails diagona perspective, but figures face left.
