Marketing ethics ethical problems that are specific to the domain of marketing (environment issues, false advertising, child labour etc). Since marketers directly deal w/ public and so many other entities, they must stay ethical and build trust. Ethical climate the set of values within a marketing firm, or in the marketing division of any firm, that guides decision making and behavior. Everyone in the firm must share the same understanding of these values and derive explicit rules to govern the firm"s transactions & business practices. Sometimes, these values conflict with the employee"s personal values. Code of ethics for marketing is developed by canadian marketing association (cma). Sometimes, people act unethically bc they get compelled by personal benefits/ company"s short term benefits. To avoid unethical behavior, long term goals of firm must be aligned w/ short term goals of ppl working in the firm.
