Document Summary

We often use stereotypes when describing people or groups. Stereotypes are seen as mental cookie cutters that assign a limited number of characteristics to all members of a group. Stereotype: a label that may have some basis in fact, but that has been grossly overgeneralized and applied to a particular segment of the population or situation. Seem harmless, but children can begin to believe that every woman should be like. Cinderella and every man should be like john smith.
