Human resource planning has a process with five steps. The steps are the following: forecast demand, asses supply, develop hr objectives, design and implement hr programs, establish program evaluation. There causes of the demand for human resources, changes in the environment, the organization and the workforce. External: social-legal-political challenges, economic developments ( inflation, unemployment and interest rates, technological changes ( computerization and automation, competitors (additional employment) Organizational: strategic plans, budgets, sales and production forecasts, new ventures, organization and job designs. Workforce: terminations, resignations, retirements, deaths, leaves of absence. Staffing table lists the future employment needs for each type of job and enables recruiters to be proactive. Once the hr department makes projections about the future demand, the next crucial step is to fill the projected openings of the jobs. There are two sources of supply: internal (insiders) and external (outsiders)
