Joe is in a position now where the financial positioning and moral of his company has fallen. Drastic changes must be made in order to save and restore his company to profitability and synergy. The biggest problem that joe faces is the lack of team effectiveness he faces within his team. Synergy is defined as a positive force that occurs in groups when group members stimulate new or better solutions through the process of mutual influence and encouragement. (sniderman et al. , 2010, p. 562). While team effectiveness is defined as when a team survives, meets its objectives, and the needs of its members are satisfied to the extent that they would be willing to work together again (sniderman et al. , 2010, p. 562). Joe must now sit down and figure out a way to remedy the lack of both in his workforce. He must evaluate his options and figure out a way to build team unity through various ob theories.
