Weaknesses: countries have to sign on, consent from each country, no way to enforce the international court. If you decide not to go to the court, nothing happens: other countries shouldn"t tell other countries what to do. Tribunals: countries need to set it up and agree to be bound by it. World trade organization: tribunals, beef meeting health standards, can challenge in tribunal. You cant even get into that country to see if there is a violation unless they allow you in the country. Sa8000: private standard dealing with labour rights and companies can get individually certified. Protect, respect and remedy format states has duty for human rights. Mining: doing a harm, for a good in that sense (cid:498)do no harm(cid:499) is not an easy obligation. Due diligence: strict liability, negligence in the context of human rights in the rudgie principles. E. g. workers, communities, harmed water supply which infringes right to clean water.
