Week following assassination saw giant manhunt for assassins. 157 dead and accused of aiding the ambush. Any village found harboring the assassins would see mass destruction from hitler. Taken out on town of lidice, 173 men killed, 200 women sent to labor camps, children sent to gas chambers, buildings burned. Some areas under nazi control were taken over as parts of the reich. Hitler didn"t see all states as created equal. Northern europe was lightly governed because it was seen as more aryan . Other states such as france were governed by military. Ss administrations were not possible to resist.
