In a retail context, the experience you have with the retail employees is paramount to determining whether or not you come back to the store, and that"s largely influenced by. Employees: find them, train them, motivate them, evaluate them, pay them. 8 seconds is the cutoff for the customer feeling welcome in your store i. e. acknowledge them within 8 seconds. Self checkout actually takes longer, but people perceive it to be shorter because they"re actually involved in the process of checking out and they feel more satisfied with the shopping experience. Part of what makes a new retailer good is the fact that, as a smaller company than the giants, you"re more enabled to do the things that they cannot, because you are more flexible. Sobey"s purchase of safeway was partially because safeway had the highest import volume of cheese.
