Canada and us has world"s largest bilateral trade relationship (1. 4 trillion) Trade more than 2 billion in goods and services everyday. Look at historical precedent"s of trump"s economic views (protectionist) to assess how well they have worked in the past. History functions as a lab for testing ideas/policies for present and future. Canada foreign policy largely reactive to us foreign policy. Canada"s enormous dependence on us trade has largely been credited/blamed for country"s pro us position. Us - canada history and culture are intertwined. Us and canada are defense and security partners. Us is 20th and 21st century world power. Studying us history allows us to move beyond simplistic pro and anti american dichotomies. Constitution embodies the fundamental principles of the us gov, or rules under which the federal/national government operates. Outlines how the government works and defines and limits the power of national government. Written in 1787, went into effect 1788.
