Taylor (1856-1915: one best way was his quote, for performing, doing something, etc, his idea was that there is one most eicient way for working on a projects. Soldiering: almost universally held belief among workers that if they became more producive, fewer of them would be needed and jobs would be eliminated. Taylor brought in the incenive wage system to encourage producivity. Workers wasted a lot of their efort by relying on rule-of-thumb methods rather than on opimal work methods that can be determined by a scieniic study of the task. Taylor created these 4 principals: replace rule of thumb work methods with methods based on a scieniic study of the task, scieniically select and then train, teach, and develop the workman.
