Entrepreneur: risk-taking individual who takes action to pursue opportunities other fail to recognize, or may even view as problems or threats. Also operate in smaller and less public scale: opening a franchise from mcdonalds or harvey"s, opening small retail shop, or going into self-employed service businesses. Anyone who assumes responsibility for introducing a new product or change in operations within an organization is also demonstrating qualities of entrepreneurship. Tend to have unique backgrounds and personal experience, childhood and family related. Entrepreneurship offers women and members of the visible minorities opportunities to strike out on their own and gain economic independence, providing a pathway of career success that may be blocked otherwise.
