People must have some sort of talent to contribute to workplace. People and their talents are the ultimate foundations of organizations performance. Intellectual capital: the collective brainpower or shared knowledge of a workforce. Todays workplaces are dominated by knowledge workers -> persons whose minds, not just their physical capabilities, are critical assets. Workforce diversity describes the composition of a workforce in terms of diff among people according to gender, age, race, ethnicity and etc. Prejudice is the display of negative, irrational attitudes toward members of diverse population. Discrimination actively denies minority members the full benefits of organizational membership. The glass ceiling effect is an invisible barrier limiting career advancement of women and minorities. Todays increasingly diverse workforce should be an asset. Globalization is the worldwide interdependence of resource flows, product markets & business competition.
