Can social mix be successfully applied to public housing redevelopment: no. Can it bring benefits to low-income populations living in the area: no. Conclusion: what will outcome of regent park be. Will the rich make decisions to change things and kick out poor people. The rich may ask for services that help them and not the poor. They don"t need school and services but instead malls and stores and security: can social mix redevelopment in public housing bring benefits to tenants. Or is it cover-up to displace them. The rich live a different lifestyle than the poor. Its hard for both classes to live together (cid:1) (cid:1) Social mix in 1840 britain: goals of social harmony. Poor people working for factories the 2 classes had tension and didn"t like each other.
