Indigenous people of the north (inuit and dene: one of the first pictures taken of inuit people (1903) (on first slide, referred to as eskimos; commercial fashion had stereotypes. Igloos, wool clothes, big dogs, elders, etc: often what image is conjured up, now we know the inuit community is, similar style constructed homes, fairly vegetated, same produce as us but more costly. People to north america: where populations came from, during late ice age periods when glaciers were built up, they believe land connections between asia and indigenous people migrated to. North america: around 15,000 years ago, evidence started to arise of people living in north. Peopling of the artic: land bridge between alaska, not until 5000 years ago of some evidence of people, essentially all of the indigenous groups that have occupied the north, first occupied. Timeline of people of the north: artic people, pre-dorset, moved east overtime, dorset people. Toogle harpoon (hunting tool) seal are captured for example.
