Question is not about the process but about what humans are doing to the process. Good thing has to do with the concept of the tipping point. Reasons: competition with other species, inability to adapt to new diseases or predators, destruction of habitat. The concerns is what are humans doing to these processes plus they add to the list: commercial exploitation. Last passenger pigeon died in 1916 in a zoo. Why massive and quick extinction: hunting and sport with technology.
