Requests are submitted from producers to ingest footage. Each production has their own server that the media services will upload their footage to. Editors , producers, broadcast associates will be able to access these clips from computers. Biggest problem with media services is communication. Interlaced scanning - variant of raster scan method. Image divided into horizontal scan lines, split into odd and even. At any time only the odd or the even lines are transmitted over broadcast network. Progressive scanning - lines are drawn in one at a time in sequential order. Entire single frame display is painted every 1/60th of a second, allowing for twice the detail to be sent in the same amount of time used in interlaced. Natural tech of choice for computer screens. Efficiency - tv execs want a complete new show every week. Reactive - actors like audience reactions, difficult to achieve spontaneity with single cam.
