April 17th 1927 john logie baird demonstates his system for broadcasting televisual images. Baird broadcast: seen by a handful of tech staff. Att hires comic a. dolan for the transmission from wireless station in whippany, nj. Dolan"s first name is lost in history (womp womp) No regular scheduled programming, audience was usually just tech staff. Featuring third-rate vaudeville or music hall talent. No famous people wanted to waste their time on tv because there was little to no public exposure. Comedian participates in 30 line low definition broadcast. This is the quality of television, not how many lines were spoken lol. 1936 was the launch of the high definition 240 line system with regularly scheduled service. Light entertainment show comedy, music, dancing, the works. Uk tv service stopped by ww2 late 1939 and resumed in 1945. Lots of experimental stations between 1929 and 1938. Only a few thousand tvs in nyc.
