Document Summary
Essay thesis: discuss the raw materials of the movie, how the sound supports the story or does not. Carl stalling: person who wrote bugs bunny, road runner, etc music. Click track: originally was a clicking noise to keep conductor and director in sync. A film score is a document of written out music that shows the parts to be played by all of the instruments involved. To score a film is to create such a document. Producer the person who oversees the financial and organisational aspects of the film. Director the creative leader of the film. This person is in charge of the look of the film, ie. sets, camera work, costuming, what the actors do, etc. Spotting watching the film and deciding where the music will go and what it will sound like. This will be done at a spotting session , attended by the film"s composer, the director, and others such as the music editor .
