Children with disabilities have additional risks to their development and appropriate early intervention can prevent further delays and additional impairments as well as minimize barriers to a child"s learning and healthy development. At the core of early intervention are high-quality inclusive services that provide access, Full participation and appropriate support to enhance each childs learning and development. Within inclusive early childhood settings children may have very different learning needs, learning styles and rates of learning yet each childs growth is appreciated and encouraged. Teaching approaches are based on children strengths and are embedded in learning experiences and daily routines. Social model: barriers within the environment, this individual is handicapped bc there is no ramp and cant participate. Criticisms: impairment, simplistic because it disregarding other factors such as a race, gender sexuality and age. Behaviour: actions (past behaviour can predict future behaviour)
