Varying degrees of contact with non-custodial parents: statistics challenging. 50% of children will live in a single-led family form from a brief. Much diversity yet generally: fare less well than two-parent led peers. Effects similar to those of poverty: less compliant. More: dependant, anti-social, likely to experience school, psychological and behavioural problems, likely to be at risk of becoming of young offender. Affluent single-led families do not experience same difficulties. Attitudes: terms, more difficult for men, evidence of a shift. Abandoning preconceived ideas: overcome moral judgement, aware of mixed messages. Challenges: single female-led families, lowest income of all forms, barriers to employment.
