The cell senses signals that trigger a controlled/programmed death: apoptosis is the cleanest way that a cell can die (so corpse does not rot away) It is controlled because we have genes that control apoptosis/cell death: control how the cell will die, you create an apoptotic body (a clean corpse) that tells the. Necrosis- very messy cell death (cell ruptures and spills out its insides) Apoptosis takes nucleus and dna inside and fragments it into little pieces. The vacuole is blabbing, completely transforming the inside of the cell. Removal of senescent and/or damaged cells (dna damage that cannot be fixed so cell destroys itself before it causes a lot of damage) Tissue remodeling in development (removal of unwanted cells) Immune control (removal of immune cells that attach self) Shows the mouse paws and fingers and between them they are webbed, they do not grow separately because that is the evolutionary origin. But we want to separate these fingers.
