Individuals able to freely choose and therefore responsible for choices and outcomes. Idea that states intervention into social problems is bad and problematic. Classic example is elevating poverty; way to do this is by empowering an individual to get a job. Then it is mostly on the individual and not the government. Neoliberalism says that the individuals should take responsibility for themselves. Research developed on neuroscience by providing a stimulation about learning and socializing the kids when they are young to maximize their potential and success later in life.
