Document Summary
Build on the foundation established in the first half of the course. To move forward by going back to some fundamental issues related to sociology and thinking sociologically. From there, begin to build an integrated conception of the contemporary world. To then use that integrated framework to study several substantive areas of sociology. His objective to show the importance of the arts. Mine is to focus on the relationship of science to the arts to better understand science. To then appreciate sociology as a science. Three levels of engagement: contemplative/speculative, action. Intellect the basis for science: emotions the basis for the arts. It is where science and the arts begin: until you feel you don"t like something. I don"t like something means you want to change something: the humanization of the world a world in which human intervention has taken place.
