However these studies are not specific to african americans, but to all minority groups. There are many groups or categories that we belong to based on our: The first thing we notice when we observe a particular individual is their gender, race, and level of attractiveness. Clark and clark (1947): african american children offered a black or white doll; the majority chose the white one. Kids justified their actions by saying the white doll looked prettier, smarter etc. Also replicated in native kids, the socially negative views of natives feeds own negative view about their culture. Stereotype (cid:862)beliefs that certain attributes are characteristic of (cid:373)e(cid:373)(cid:271)ers of parti(cid:272)ular groups(cid:863)
