Many of them exists and they all measure personality in different ways. Allport: 1930"s attempted to identify all possible traits. Used to group items that people respond to similarly. Has narrowed the many potential personality traits into a small number of factors. Based on the finding that personality can be described using five major dimensions. The big 5 might be missing cultural specific qualities. Tendency to use people, be deceitful, be manipulative. Use other as a means to an end. Personality and behaviour are shaped by powerful forces in consciousness, most of which is hidden from our awareness in our consciousness. Unconscious mind cast powerful, inaccessible, operates without your permission.
