Document Summary
A lot of our brain processes vision. Ideas of vision are very present in our society we can make more out of the visual world than any other species. Physical energy into action potential which our brain knows how to handle. Wavelength controls the colour of light we see. We only see the visual light spectrum. This is where the physical energy is converted to action potential. Light hits the retina (back of the eye) Increase electrical potential: make neurons fire, turn white, reflect light. When struck by light the cell is more likely to fire. Once they are done they turn white and reflect light. At night we see with our rods in the receptors. Different dark adaptation in rods versus in cones. Rods keep adjusting and keep coming more sensitive for 20 mins. Humans have 3 different kinds of cones.
