Personality- pattern of thinking and interacting that is unique to each individual and remains relatively consistent over time and across situations. A particular pattern of behaviour and thinking that prevails across time and situations and differentiates one person from another. Stable throughout adulthood and increases in stability with age: major life events or brain damage can change that. Personality is affected by the interactions between genetics and environment: an individual who is difficult tends to elicit negative feedback on others creating a more negative environment. Personality is the group of learned habits and responses due to operant and classical conditioning. Characteristics are patterns shaped and formed by the environment.
