Liberal feminism: work within current system, believe inequality for women in result of differential treatment, equal rights/ opportunities viable solution. Radical feminism: inequality rooted in sex/gender system, body politics. Socialist feminism: economic sources of oppression, sexual division of labour. Post-modern feminism: challenges existence of universal truths/universal categories, argument about language, concerned about how we know things about the world around us & common understandings (e. g. Oppressions: a system of interrelated barriers and forces which reduce, immobilize and mould people who belong to a certain group, and effect their subordination to another group . Patriarchy: rule by men: systematic gender inequality, men enjoy greater access to what is valued by society. How sexual/gender identities impact participation in politics. The nature of issues focus on (and ignored) in formal politics. Power relationships in all aspects of life (and their relationship to formal structures)
