Seen in this course, whenever an expansion of (cid:449)o(cid:373)e(cid:374)(cid:859)s rights (suffrage, (cid:449)o(cid:373)e(cid:374)(cid:859)s case and here) still traditional tensions of what a woman should be, if not legally but socially, politically, etc. But desire to return to normalcy of before the war, and the depression before social and political changes started to happen. Theme: for women, big changes but also constantly a social and politically and cultural urge to reinforce traditional gender roles and traditional norms of femininity. One hand: tessie the textile worker women can be physically and emotionally strong. With tessie: women working like never before, but women still being gendered.
