Feeling: after wwi and quasi-planned economy, re-asserted values of capitalistal, small government, limited social assistance and continue with notion that unregulated market best market, inequality is fine as long as it is accompanied by general increases of wealth. Depression threw that to whack, then have parties like social credit and ccf: parties had reason to exist before the depression, but it created a window of opportunity for new political orders. Mostly known about crisis of economics and political parties, but reality is also caused crisis of gender: The house was not easy way to run unless fortunate to have help, for most women, cooking cleaning and childcare a lot of work.
