Crisis, the 1930s: dolls and the depression: consumer. A little mis shirley doll eatons store on young street, dolls in the windows and little grils would look in the windows and long for the shirley temple doll but they cant afford them. Sales clerk explained girls needed a pint of milk ten thousand times more than they needed one of those dolls they were lucky if they got brealfast that morning etc. Children longing for pirducts of consumer capitalism. Ushered in era of mass culture and production. But only the bottom part of what was supposed to be 7 floors was constructed. October 28 1929 the idea of it came crashing down because of the great depression. Caused ppl to re assses the economy and their purchases. 2008 recession housing market collapsed , candians have still been trying to make up for therir overspending - by raising tutions .
