The international normative and legal basis for decolonization (end to colonialism africa and eurasian countries breaking free from european colonialism) Colonislams imposed its strucutures on african and asian socieities. Even where functioning political systems before, colonialism imposed fixed territorial boundaries forced colonized africans and asians to operate within territorial boundries. Nationalism conceot that ppl within specific terriitroy sense of national identity ppl within that territorial space have sense of nation hood. Africans and asians fightinh against colonial oppression moboloized their peoples within those colonial boundries. Legal and normative basis for the right to self- determination. Lenin 1917 (leader of bolshavicks) and us president wilson 1918 called for peoples right to self determinion right for ppl to decide their own political future.
