Steep volcanic mountains steeply going into deep water (volcanic islands) Sun putting out ~85% of current energy. Sky has weird colour because primary atmospheric gases are the ones coming out of volcanoes (h2o, co2, so2, n2) Life appeared ~4. 5-3. 5ga: don"t have a good record until stromatolites came about around 3. 5ga.
