57 views5 pages

Document Summary

Success of an organization comes down to talent. Demographics, globalization and the need for higher-knowledge skill-based employees are requiring managers to take a longer, more asset approach to human resource team. Managers need to spend time on talent development. We need to treat and view our human assets in same way we would with capital or financial assets. First need to determine the need we are trying to solve and develop a set of specifications to identify the specific skill set we need for the position to be filled. Following this, we should determine what type of individual is best suited to fill this need, recruit and select this preferred candidate. Once the person is hired, we need to provide orientation, training and skill support development to this employee, and maximize the potential of this individual through periodic or ongoing investment in new or existing skill development.
