Heroes don"t live long, associated with suffering, but are always remembered. Heroes are extra ordinary can do things that humans cannot do. Heracles is the ultimate example of a hero. I will sing of heracles, the son of zeus and much the mightiest of men on earth. Alcmena bore him in thebes, the city of lovely dances, when the dark-clouded son of cronos had lain with her. Other heroes do not have a homeric hymn, this is unique. A mortal of my blood will be born today who shall rule over all men - Zeus has both immortal and mortal children. Saying heracles is the greatest mortal son of zeus. Heracles as an idea of a hero is the oldest, but not chronologically. Associated with many cities argos, tiryns, thebes, trachis.
