*a short history of progress donald wright* evolution and anthropology. It has been found that chimps have the same capacity of a 4-6 year old child. Animals exhibit a lot of characteristics we defined as distinctly human. We are the only living primate species of the homo family (homo sapiens). There are 2 species of orangetan, 2 of gorilla and 2 of chimpanzees. These are the species we are most closely related to. But there were several more hominid (human) families in the past based on archeological studies several of these species lived at the same time. The earlier fossil evidence of our species, homo sapiens date back to about 200-300 000 years ago. These (cid:858)other hu(cid:373)a(cid:374)s(cid:859) a(cid:374)d other (cid:374)o(cid:374) hu(cid:373)a(cid:374) spe(cid:272)ies ((cid:271)i pedal hominids) date bak to as early as 6-7 million year ago. Human like bipedal hominids have been around for a long ti(cid:373)e a(cid:374)d we are the o(cid:374)ly o(cid:374)es left.
