Cicada: life cycle : 13 years, adults only live for 1 month (most of their life is spent in the nymph stage) Tophat 1: what type of metamorphosis does this represent: none, ametaboly, hemimetaboly, holometaboly. Every 13 or 17 years, they emerge: there are seven species of cicadas in the eastern us, four with 13-year life cycles and three with 17-year cycles, each of these are called broods. Feeding stages attach to the mouthparts of lobster. Three forms of larval stages: chordoid, pandora, prometheus. Body plan: tiny animal, food is filter fed via cilia, blind gut. Life cycle: pandora stage reproduce asexually (1-11, pandora state produces either female larvae or a male prometheus larvae, prometheus larvae settles on a pandora feeding stage. Why is this a different phyla: dna shows it"s disti(cid:374)ct fro(cid:373) the other phyla (though it is close to platyhelminthes, characteristics of life cycle.
