Document Summary
Immunity in plants (-plants produce ouabain because that will kill beetles/ species that eat the plants. The response to a foreign pathogen induced response. Plants immune system can work intra and extracellularly. Plants which have been exposed to the virus will then produce a smell which warns other plants and they can develop antibodies to protect themselves against it before it reaches them. Plants can"t protect against any foreign virus like human it has to have a specific gene which will recognize it. Hemolymph- a fluid equivalent to blood in most invertebrates they have amino acids in blood , humans don"t. Clotting in insects- similar to humans, when cut hemocytes gather around and break open, spilling cytoplasmic content (making cell fragments) calcium then is involved and creates a soft clot. Then an enzyme phenyloxidase produces melanin (dark pigment) which spreads across the clot making it mature.
