Zika forest in uganda developed a virus centre to research the different viruses in the forest. Put animals on varying heights, as they believed that virus vectors only affected certain conditions. The zika virus was contracted and isolated to study in mice brains. The virus effects the babies of pregnant women as their babies are born with smaller brains than usual. Linked to microcephaly and guillian-barre syndrome - which attacks the nerves. It is an arbovirus which is arthropod born (insects) Found high viral traces in the children and not the adults brain (it"s genome may help determine why) Environmental factors may spread or enhance the impact of viruses, vectors and range increases. Microcephaly caused by 8 recessive genes affecting brain growth (4 involved with neuroblast info and the proteins in charge. 3-4 show extreme rapid evolutionary change in recent human history)
